Notification All The Things!

I'm a huge fan of scripting. The POSIX toolset is insanely fast and powerful. I sometimes wish I could push notifications to my phone though, and so I eventually settled on Pushover.

There are other similar services, but for my purposes this was perfect and reasonably priced. One of the things that's great is that you can invoke the pushover API via CURL, but I thought it would be nice to have a bit more friendly syntax for sending messages, with the added benefit of knowing where they are coming from. The following script does the trick:

Examples
po "Hi, call your mom!" priority:high
po "The server is on fire" priority:emergency

PO Script
po "message" [optional priority:quiet|low|normal|high|emergency]
